Veterans Day 2017 Planting

On Veteran’s Day, November 11, 2017 over 50 Baltimoreans came out on a cold autumn morning to plant the first 39 flowering trees of Baltimore’s Flowering Tree Trails. This planting takes advantage of the existing cherry trees north of the Druid Hill Park reservoir, linking the tennis courts to the Rawlings Conservatory with a trail of flowering trees which will have one species or another blossoming from the end of March through July.

Thanks to all the wonderful volunteers and donors who supported our first grand planting.

Large groves of flowering and shade trees will expand beyond the path for those who want to linger amidst the colors and scents, to slow down, rest and picnic, play, or daydream.
